This evening I went with a friend to see the new film Battleship. And I'm going to give a quick summary on my thoughts.

I was slightly hesitant about watching this film as I'd read a few weeks before the initial first release trailer and I was quite sceptical about them making a film based entirely on an old board game created by Hasbro. But made by Michael Bay, who fans will know sorted out the Tranformers films.
A lot of the action sequences that take place in this movie are pretty bloody mind blowing and the looks of certain things run very similar to some of the 'formers movies. The plot is as I thought, unexpected, the start has nothing to do with the game and neither does the end. There's a ten minute window in which they make it totally AWESOME.
I'd give it a decent 7/10 and if you're a Bay fan, like explosions and big mechanical behemoths, throw your money at your. Earnest cinema and enjoy.
